Wake Up Your Luck
Jan 13, 2026
Clint Eastwood was in the Dirty Harry movie from 1971. His character confronts a
criminal asking if he feels lucky? He is holding a gun over him and the question is about
whether he fired 5 or 6 shots? Is the gun empty or not? It is indeed empty but he bluffs
his way through it.
Are you lucky? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being least and 10 being most. Where would
you place how lucky you are?
Does it seem that some people you meet are more lucky than others? You feel they
may have horseshoes up their butt. Like winning a lottery or a house or a trip or on slots
machines regularly. They selected the right life partner. Have great kids or seem to have
truly a wonderful life. Everything they touch turns to gold or is a winner. This would be
on the scale of the 8–10 range.
On the scale of 1–3 you may feel cursed or abandoned by a higher power. Anything that
could go wrong does go wrong. So many accidents, injuries, things breaking down. You
feel poorly like you do not have a lot of life force. The struggle is real. You do not have
someone special that has come along. Or you thought you did only to be taken to the
cleaners through the divorce and begin again with nothing. Your kids are hellions. You
would just like a break in life. As one thing after another hits you, you become more and
more overwhelmed and exhausted.
Or maybe you are somewhere in the middle of the 4–7 range where things are not
here nor there but not anywhere you want them to be. But you can’t seem to get ahead
no matter how hard you try. You live a mundane life where nothing exciting happens. All
work and no play. You feel stuck in a rut and long for traction to go elsewhere.
The Chinese are firm believers in the concept of luck dividing it into three categories:
heavenly luck, human luck and earthly/environmental luck. Each contributes equally to
your overall success in life. Accessing and working with each luck is crucial to
harnessing your life’s full potential. If you do not have full access to all three, you are
missing out on a whopping % of your luck!
All three lucks are hard to change for the better but it is possible to influence them in a
more positive direction. Begin today, as the Persians say, “Go and wake up your luck”.
Because Luck is being prepared for opportunity when it comes. –anonymous
Having good physiognomy (facial features) is not as good as having good fate.
Good fate is not as good as having a good heart.
A good heart is not as good as having good luck.
Having good luck is not as good as having good chi (energy).
